Bobby Hunter is a Reno, Nevada native, where he graduated from Bishop Manogue HS in 2010. He was a 4 year student-athlete playing both basketball/football. After high school, he received a full-ride scholarship to play basketball at Oregon tech (NAIA, 12’) where the Hustlin’ Owls won the National championship and he was named MVP of the tournament.
One year later, he transferred to Gainesville, FL to continue his pursue to D1 dream, which landed him at Sante Fe CC, where he lead the country in scoring (25.6). All the hardwood paid off and he received that D1 scholarship from Illinois State University (ISU 15’), where he was a 2 year starter and captain for the Redbirds. He spent one season playing overseas in China.
Since then, he’s been coaching youth sports with the Reno Ballers and was the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Reno High School (2017-18). He is now engaged to his girlfriend of 2 years, Ali Testa and they two children Brooklyn and Nye Hunter!.
